This position is required to meet all USDA, HACCP, GMP, and Company standards and is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs for maintenance and facilities personnel across a variety of technical disciplines. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing others. The Technical Trainer will ensure that our team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain facilities, equipment and systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
 
Responsibilities Include and Accountable For:
  • Training Program Development:
    • Develop comprehensive training programs for maintenance staff, covering equipment operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and safety procedures.
    • Design training materials including manuals, slides, videos, and simulations to support learning objectives.
    • Stay updated on the latest industry standards, tools, and technologies, incorporating them into training materials.
  • Delivery of Training:
    • Conduct hands-on and classroom-based training sessions for new hires and ongoing skill development of existing staff.
    • Offer one-on-one training and mentoring to ensure learners are equipped with practical and theoretical knowledge.
    • Lead practical assessments to evaluate skills, providing feedback for performance improvement.
    • Conduct maintenance department new hire orientation.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Emphasize safety best practices in all training sessions, ensuring compliance with OSHA, local, and Michigan Turkey Producers safety standards.
    • Conduct safety drills and simulations to reinforce emergency procedures and safe work practices.
  • Assessment & Reporting:
    • Assess trainee performance through written and practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
    • Monitor and track training progress, ensuring that all team members are up to date with necessary certifications and competencies.
    • Report on training effectiveness and suggest improvements to continually enhance the program.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
    • Work closely with the Maintenance Leadership and other departments to identify training needs and fill skill gaps.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and optimize the training curriculum.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
